Lawrence Barns is the President and CEO of LDAO, but prior to joining was already a parent of two sons with Learning Disabilities. A lawyer by training he found advocacy in the school system easy, his ability to ask the right questions not so much. After twenty years as a global business executive with RBC , sought after public speaker and TV host his time is now dedicated to changing the perception of Learning Disabilities and the individuals that it impacts. Lawrence is also the host of Talk LD a podcast of LD@school and soon to be launched LD@home.

Alison Parker

Transition Programs Coordinator, Regional Assessment and Resource Centre (RARC), Queen's University

Alison coordinates transition programs at RARC for elementary and secondary students with disabilities, and oversees the Transition Resource Guide website, which provides school and disability related information to all incoming post-secondary students in Ontario. She has a Bachelor of Education and is working towards her professional Master of Education.
